Rose Katherine McCormick's parents:  father is James Jay McCormick (born 13 Sep 1874; died 19 March 1952 in Lane County, Oregon) and mother is Jesse May Smith (born 13 May 1875; died 12 Feb 1962 in Lane County, Oregon).  They married 19 Oct 1898.  Besides Rose, there were 3 other children of this union:  Helen Caroline McCormick (born 12 Oct 1899; died 13 Nov 1970; married Leo Edwin Simms in 1920; he died in 1950 in Eugene, Lane, Oregon), Donald Jay McCormick (born 04 June 1905; married Floral Flannigan in 1930), and James Milton McCormick (born 01 Jan 1918; died 16 Mar 1982 in El Cajon, California; married Anna Bethel Whitaker on 11 Nov 1939).

Rose's paternal grandparents:  James Hodson McCormick (born September 1843 in Fairfield, Jefferson, Iowa; died 13 Jan 1922 in Eugene, Lane, Oregon).  On 01 January 1871 James married Anna Maria Isabella McClane in Salem, Marion, Oregon.  Anna was born 26 Apr 1854 in Maryland; she died 06 Dec 1925 in Lane County, Oregon.  Children born to this union were Alvin M. McCormick (born 1872); James J. McCormick (born 1874; see above); Rosco Roy McCormick (born 1876); Walter W. McCormick (born 1879); Juanita McCormick (born after 1880; married a man whose surname was Gosney); Clinton C. McCormick (born in May 1882 in Oregon); Ethel McCormick (born in May 1887 in Oregon; married Mitchell); and Jesse B. McCormick (born April 1892 in Oregon; married Robert Hoselton).

Rose's maternal grandparents:  Hiram Jackson Smith (whose parents were Elisha E. Smith and Annie Riddle) and Emily Ellander McAlpine (whose parents were Robert McAlpine and Jane Thomas).
