Hannah M. Richmond/Curtiss/McKinney/Snethen
According to her death certificate, she was born in 1831.
In most of the signatures in the posession of a descendant, Hannah signs Curtis with one "s".
On the pension papers she wrote two of the boys with two "s" and two of the boys have one. Her death certificate has one.
On June 8th, 1907, she was in Coleman and presumably living with Wilmer. Perhaps she was getting feeble enough that he had to put her into a home at that time.
On this certain paper [I presume this is the application for acceptance to the Old Soldier's Home in Grand Rapids Michigan.Lmcsr] her name is spelled Curtice. It also says she married Samuel Kinney on what would have been Jerome's 46th birthday. She divorced him and married Joseph Snethen on Nov. 23rd, 187?. He died April 27, 1895 in Solon, Kent Co., MI. I know she had a daughter, Mary Amy, with Sam Kinney.

Hannah later married a 'Snethen' as that was her name when she applied for her Civil War widow's pension.

bullet  Burial Notes

Elmwood Cemetery, Section D, Lot 32, Plot 4

According to a conversation between living descendant and the sexton at Elmwood Cemetery in Kent Co: The sexton said that Hannah is buried in a plot owned by L. W. Stiles (Hannah's mother was Lois Pierce Stiles). Also in the 8 plot lot is an Edgar Babcoc. He was born Nov. 26, 1899 and died in August 1968. The other six plots are empty. There are no other Stiles listed there nor Richmond.
Hannah is in Section D, Lot 32, Plot 4. Edgar is in Plot 9. Hannah's stone is still in good shape and readable.
