James and Ellen had 4 children together. Their first daughter, Patricia Darlene Anderson, was born in 1933 but she died as an infant only 2 days after her birth. Their next son, James Edgar Anderson, Jr., was born in 1934, but he also died young, at the age of 22, from a motorcycle accident. They had another daughter who is still living. Lastly, James and Ellen had a son, Leon, who also died fairly young, at 42. Patricia, James Jr. and Leon are all buried in Greenwood Cemetery, along with their father.
