James Louis (or Lewis) ANDERSON was born 17 June 1869 in Christiania, Norway (near Oslo). He was the son of Jens and Ellen Anderson. On 7 May 1895 in Port Townsend, Jefferson County, Washington, he married his wife, Isabella Newton, a native of Port Townsend. She was born 9 April 1871.

James died 7 May 1939 in Irondale, Jefferson County, Washington, and he was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Chimacum. Isabelle died 14 years later in Sequim, Clallam County, Washington, but is buried next to her husband here in Greenwood Cemetery.
