Paul M. Nelson, 59, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009, at University of Louisville Hospital as a result of a weather related automobile accident.
Paul had worked as service manager at Pep Boys Automotive in Louisville, Ky. He was previously a service manager at Jim O'Neal Ford in Sellersburg, Ind., and D-Patrick Autoplex in Evansville, Ind. Paul was a six-year infantry veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Paul was a lifelong Boy Scout who was active in the Buffalo Trace Council and served as Scoutmaster of Troop 336. He was an active member of Old North Methodist Church while living in Evansville. He loved cooking, woodworking and anything he could do with his hands. Paul was a history buff and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, ----- Nelson of Corydon, Indiana; daughters, ----- Nelson of Louisville, Ky., and ----- Nelson of Corydon, Ind.; sons, ----- Nelson and his wife, -----, of Washington, D.C., ----- Nelson and his wife, -----, of Cabin John, Md.; parents, ----- and Doris (Schwartz) Nelson; sisters, ----- ----- and her husband, -----, of Evansville, ----- ----- and her husband, -----, of Evansville; brother, ----- Nelson and his wife, -----, of Evansville; grandchildren, ----- and ----- -----; and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his brother, David Nelson.
Funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave, Evansville.
Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon to service time on Thursday at Browning Funeral Home.
