Mertie lived in this area nearly all of her life. She worked as a homemaker, and she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, needlework, gardening, and raising farm animals. She was a member of Full Gospel Church in Grant, OK.
Mertie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Henry Chauncey; her daughter, Jessie Johnson; and her grandson, Tony Earnest. Mertie is survived by her children, ----- Powell of Ft.
