General Notes Josiah and his brave young wife were among the first settlers of Worcester, which must have presented some staggering problems, even at best, but when Josiah died, March 28, 1730, leaving Sarah with three children, one of them being a newborn baby, it must have been tragic indeed. She must have been a woman of rare courage, determination and faith to have tackled the job, alone. The two little girls died eleven years later within one week of each other.
