General Notes
BERNARD MAGLONE was the firstborn son of R. Bernard Maglone and Anna C. Scott. He was born in New Orleans in either February or March of 1850. Bernard was only 3 months old when he was enumerated on the 1850 census in Lafayette, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, USA. The official enumeration day of the 1850 census was 01 June 1850 and all questions asked were supposed to refer to that date.
Bernard died on 30 July 1853 when he was just 3 years and 4 months old. He was buried in Cypress Grove Cemetery #1 on the 31st of July 1853. His interment is listed in an 1853 publication entitled, "The Epidemic Summer, A Review of the Yellow Fever, Its Causes, etc., and An Interesting and Useful Abstract of Mortuary Statistics, Published by the Proprietor of the True Delta, 1853" (Louisiana Section, Main Branch, New Orleans Public Library); internments submitted to LAGenWeb. According to the statistics published, little Bernard Maglone was one of the very few who did NOT die of yellow fever in the New Orleans summer of 1853.

On Saturday evening, the 30th inst., at 7 o'clock, of congestion of the brain, BERNARD, only son of Anna C. and Bernard Maglone, aged 3 years and 4 months.
The friends and acquaintances of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral at the residence of the family, on St Andrew, between Live Oak and Laurel streets, Fourth District, at 5 o'clock, This Afternoon.
