Pauline S. Wilson
The funeral service for Pauline S. Wilson, 100, formerly of 1609 E. Taylor St. and Westminster Village, both in Bloomington, and more recently of Minonk, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be for one hour before the service Monday at the memorial home.
She died at 11:13 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 14, 1999) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minonk.
Memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington.
Mrs. Wilson was born July 30, 1899, near Ivesdale, a daughter of Henry E. and Edith M. Brown Schmidt. She married Harrold B. Wilson on Aug. 3, 1957, at Bloomington. He died June 3, 1991.
Survivors include two brothers, John L. Schmidt, Bloomington, and Carl H. Schmidt, Arthur.
Other survivors include her nieces, ----- (-----) Oncken, Minonk; ----- (-----) Kennedy, Elgin; ----- (-----) Pare, Englewood, Fla.; ----- (-----) Bauer, Tuscola; and a nephew, ----- (-----) Schmidt, Ivesdale; eight great-nieces; six great-nephews; and one great-great-niece.
A sister, Henrietta E. Henninger, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, and a former member of Koda Roamers Camera Club. She was a graduate of Champaign Commercial College, Champaign. She traveled extensively in later years, taking five trips to Europe and on one trip she sailed home on the Queen Elizabeth II.
She began work for State Farm Insurance Cos. as its seventh employee on May 8, 1925, and retired as an executive secretary after 32 years.
