Donald Claude Hinrichsen, 77, of Mokane, died at his home, Saturday, May 16, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born January 11, 1932, in Lusk, Wyoming, to John and Vera (Houts) Hinrichsen. After attending Manville (Wyoming) Schools, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1951-1955, during the Korean Conflict. He married Alice Mae George in Oregon in 1951; they divorced. He then married Floy Ann McCaw on August 8, 1970, in Carson City, Nevada.
Don was a Teamster for 15 years and Operating Engineer for 35 plus years. He worked in the construction industry throughout the United States and on some of our Nation's biggest construction projects including the Metroliner in Washington, D.C. He and his wife owned and operated the Mokane Market for 8 years until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling, genealogy, and visiting with friends and family.
Survivors include: his wife, Floy Ann; one daughter; three sons; two granddaughters; several nieces and nephews. His parents; one son, George Douglas; one brother and three sisters preceded in him death.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20, 2009, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial with military honors will follow at Steedman Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
