bullet  General Notes

According to the Mae Wilson papers, Hugh Clark and his wife Mary Lytle were not Catholic. When he married his second wife, he converted to Catholicism as did his daughter, Isabel. However, according to family tradition, all the Clarks were Catholic in Ireland.   It is said that he worked on laying track for the railroad in Pennsylvania.  Supposedly, it was work on the track that brought him to Noble, Richland County area in Illinois.   He is buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Olney, Illinois.
