Daughter of Thomas Stobo and Elizabeth Mitchell. Born about 1824 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Married William Haining on 08 July 1853 in Tarbolton, Ayrshire, Scotland. Mother of Elizabeth, Margaret, Janet Stobo, Anne, David, Mary, and Thomas Stobo Haining. Died on 04 June 1886 at the age of 62 years (according to her gravestone and most census enumerations; according to her death certificate she was 65 years old).
