Comments: Hugh E. Clarke was my great great grand father. Joseph Hugh Clark was my great grand father. John Joseph Clark was my grand father. John Joseph Clark jr. was my father. Thanks for all the wonderful information. I have stories and information about the Clarks I can share.
Admin reply: Hi, John! It's very nice to hear from you. I'd love to have additional information from your branch of the Clark family. I will contact you directly when I'm ready to exchange details.
Unfortunately, it may be a couple of weeks before you hear from me again. I had a computer disaster around Thanksgiving and I'm trying to rebuild my computer's boot drive. Fortunately, all my data was saved (thanks, Backblaze!), but I still have to re-install all the software and restore all my data files. Looks like I'm going to be tied up for another week or so (it's December 9th today).
In the meantime, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thanks for visiting my website!
cheers, Kirsty Haining Seattle, Washington

Admin reply: Hi, Ken —
Nice to hear from you. I'm connected to the Springsteads through my aunt, so some of my first cousins will be more interested in the Springstead lineage further up the tree. I'll email you directly with contact information.

Comments: My mom's maiden surname was Bartlett... and my interesting trail to your site goes like this:
John Bartlett b.1833 MD m. in 1860 AR to Rebecca C. Mayfield. She had a son John T. Rogers b.AR 1858. Found Rebecca to be dau of Thomas J. Mayfield, along with an apparent stepmom Susan Matthews. Found Susan's maiden name to be Gatlin. Whew!
Am finding Rogers families amongst Whitaker & Beard families, in 1900 Census, Nacogdoches, TX. Am recognizing descendants of TJ Mayfield, trying to tie in J.T. Rogers and make sense of all!
Admin reply: Hi, Jerry —
Sounds like you found my website because of the general notes and census information I had on Alfred Gatlin Matthews (1842-1911). I see he's the stepbrother of your Rebecca Mayfield.
Even though your Mayfields, Bartletts, and Rogers aren't in my tree, I'm still glad you stopped by my website. And thanks for signing my guestbook! (I'm always curious what people were looking for when they stumble across my site, and now, in your case, I know.)

Just a quick post to let you know I received your guestbook message as well as your other email. I've been having some computer woes at home, so I'm a little backed up with email. But I hope to write back properly within the next few days.
Thanks for visiting my website!
cheers, Kirsty

Comments: Hi! Robert Chalmers McLane was my g-father's brother. Josephine Amanda Berry was my Great G-ma: Her dad Francis Berry (1791) & brother, John Preston Berry, were Donation Land Grant (1850-1855) recipients in Oregon. I'm working on the tree of his descendants. Her grandparents Francis Berry (b 1754) and Sarah Sharp Berry were Rev. War prisoners for 3 yes, taken with ~~ 300, from Martin's Station, marched to Detroit, on to Montreal, to serve British officers, etc. I am DAR through him, the first through his son Francis (b1791). I have copies of the Record of marriage of Samuel and Josephine, & others, from Albany, Ore. courthouse. See Find a Grave Josephine Amanda Berry McLane - contributer JMCL, knows more than any on McLane & Berry tree. Has genealogy info from RC McLane's daughter Verla C. See: Roots web's Langolier + Jim Berry site. Best I've seen,.. Thanks again for making this public. - Margaret McLane
Admin reply: Hi, Margaret —
